What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is simply focusing on the present moment, on what you are doing right now, without judgment. While this sounds easy, in today’s world it is more difficult than ever. Especially for busy people, such as executives with many responsibilities, being mindful is quite difficult. Your mind is always busy with what you need to do next or what mistakes you may have made before. Mindfulness gives you a break from the past and the future and helps you focus on this moment, now.
Why is meditation important in our busy lifestyle?
Meditation simply means focusing on the present moment, being aware of what you are doing now. When you are mindful, your head is clearer, so you are much more efficient in everything you do. You are more relaxed and attentive to the needs of your clients, colleagues, your team, family and friends. You can handle your various responsibilities much better and with a clear head. You will also spend better quality time with everyone because your mind doesn’t wander off to issues all the time. You feel more peace and quiet inside, and it shows on the outside. You inspire others with your attitude.
What does meditation do for your relationships with people?
When you meditate, you take some time to bring clarity to your mind. We all know that physical exercise is important, but we often forget to pay attention to the well-being of our minds. And yet, that mind has an impact on our actions, our health, and our relationships with others. So putting some time aside to allow your mind to rest and take a break is well worth the effort. Althougth you might think the opposite, meditation is a very active process as you learn to observe your mind and all the activity going on there. The idea is to learn to control your mind instead of your mind controling you. This will help you manage your day-to-day tasks and overcome daily issues much more easily and focus on what is really important to make you happy. People will find your presence calming and soothing.
What if I am too busy or too tired to meditate or focus on mindfulness?
Meditation is most efficient if practiced regularly. Therefore, it is indeed recommended to put some time aside to meditate every day if possible. You might think that you don’t have any time for that. But 5-10 minutes a day can already make a huge difference, and that is something even the busiest people can probably manage. Also, given that your mind will be clearer and that you will feel more relaxed, you will be more efficient with everything and thus save time in the end. Mindfulness can be practiced at any moment; it is just a different state of mind than what we are used to, so there is no time investment here, just a little effort with big effects. And the benefits of mindfulness and meditation are contagious: you will have a positive impact on everyone around you. You will build strong relationships with co-workers, family, and friends. You will feel happier and more relaxed. So are you really sure you cannot invest a little time for that?
Is meditation religious?
Many religions have some kind of meditation, and the roots of mindfulnesss are found in Buddhism, but the different types of meditation we teach at Kyizomcoach are all 100% secular. The amount of practice is all up to you; a minimum of 5 minutes a day will already make a big difference in your life.

Since then, I never stopped learning more and found meditation to be the biggest life-changing experience in my life. When I came back to the corporate world as a team leader, I realized how helpful meditation was to cope with the responsibilities of a team leader, the challenge of meeting deadlines, and the communication with co-workers and team members. I also have a family with 2 kids,so I know what it means to be busy. I started doing mindfulness workshops and teaching meditation to my co-workers, adjusting to their needs, time availability, and capacities. Therefore, my approach is simple and straight to the point, fully adjusted to your busy lifestyle. I have narrowed down the broad world of mindfulness and meditation to the techniques that are useful, efficient, and practical for busy people with many responsibilities and corporate executives.
