Why stories?

The idea

Having lived in different countries, each time with a different aim in mind, I have had the chance to deal with a multitude of people from very different backgrounds and lifestyles. Often I have also put myself or just happened to be in quite interesting situations.

Many of these situations have taught me quite a lot and my friends and family always enjoy it when I share my experiences with them and ask me to write a book. I don’t think I will have time for that anytime soon, but I decided to share some excerpts of my life here in the hope that they could prove useful or interesting to you.

The power of a real life story

Most people enjoy reading interesting stories, but there is always a special additional interest when the story is based on real life facts. And stories can be so comforting. When my father passed away, it was especially tough on me because he was a master of life, a man many people looked up to, and he was my best friend from the time I could think.

I worked in an office in the US at the time. My coworkers reacted in an incredible way, I was overwhelmed by the help and support I received. My ticket expenses to go back to the funeral were covered and there was even money left to cover part of my siblings’ expenses. And then I received so many thoughtful emails and messages of comfort from all my colleagues, it was very touching.

The most touching were real life stories of how they had overcome their grief when one of their loved ones had died. These were also the most helpful ones. They have helped me in an incredible way, So if you have some positive aspect of your life to share to help others, never underestimate the power of a real-life story!

I hope that you will find some use or entertainment in the stories here, I will try to add something about each country and culture I had the chance to deal with.
